On August 18 it was announced by government IT services provider, AMERICAN SYSTEMS that it has acquired Arlington, Va.-based EM Business Holdings, Inc. (EMBH), an engineering, IT and professional services company. With this acquisition AMERICAN SYSTEMS will gain more than 160 employees.

President and Chief Executive Officer of AMERICAN SYSTEMS, Peter Smith said, “Acquisitions are an important element of our growth strategy. Having said that, we work hard to ensure that we select companies that are a good fit for us, both culturally and strategically. EMBH will mesh well with our culture and our current capabilities, and their support of national priority programs is aligned with our strategic plan.”

EMBH brings with it a rich history of supporting its defense, security and intelligence customers in the areas of engineering, science and advanced technology solutions since 2000. It will join forces with the Human Capital & Managed Services group at AMERICAN SYSTEMS led by Jason Frye, VP/GM.

Frye had this to say, “The acquisition will benefit both parties. EMBH has an excellent reputation, and together we will bring a broader set of capabilities to more business areas.”
