Ben Edson and Sirena Johnson Added to SECAF Board of Directors

On July 1 the two newest members of the SECAF (Small and Emerging Contractors Advisory Forum) Board of Directors were named; Ben Edson and Sirena Johnson. Both will hold a two-year term serving the government contracting community.

Ben Edson, Founder and CEO of the IT solutions firm, VariQ, brings years of experience in the security field. Since 2003 Edson has seen his company grow to over 300 employees and since 2009 has seen a 940% growth in business. In addition to being the Founder and CEO at VariQ he previously held positions at MSD, Symantec and The Family Missions.

Sirena Johnson of Thompson Greenspon is a principal and is also a member of the Government Contracting and Employee Benefit Plans Groups. She serves her clients in the areas of accounting, auditing and tax services. From the years 2011-2013 The Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants and Virginia Business Magazine named Johnson “Super CPA” in the category of small business consulting.

Scott Brezler, Chairman of SECAF and Partner at Dixon Hughes Goodman had this to say of Edson and Johnson, “The addition of Ben and Sirena to the SECAF Board of Directors ensures that our organization continues to be a valuable resource to the government contracting community as a whole.
