NCI Inc., of Reston, Va., announced May 13 that the company has been awarded a cost-plus-fixed-fee contract to support the National Supplier Clearinghouse (NSC) for the U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). The contract has a one-year base and four one-year option periods with a value of $51.9 million.
“We are very pleased to be chosen for this award as it represents significant new work and an important milestone for NCI,” NCI President Brian J. Clark said. “Our wholly-owned subsidiary, AdvanceMed, has a long history of supporting CMS, giving us in-depth durable medical equipment policy expertise and an excellent track record performing fraud investigations. This, coupled with NCI’s technological capabilities and innovative methodologies, helped us bring a strong solution and unique capability set to the needs of this program.”
NCI will apply advanced technology to adapt and improve the NSC program to aid in the prevention of fraud, waste and abuse, while enabling rapid enrollment of qualified durable equipment suppliers to support the needs of Medicare beneficiaries nationwide.
