Here’s the news you need to know as we head into the full swing of spring:

WashingtonExec spoke with SRA Founder Dr. Ernst Volgenau, who discussed his inspiration for his recently-published book, surviving the dot-com boom, the economic downturn and the company’s ensuring values. DHS Senior Advisor Craig Chambers discussed how the federal government is keeping up with the fast pace of innovation. And finally, Alan Pentz of Corner Alliance explained how he is ushering in government clients into the new age of communication.

In our continuing 2015 K-12 STEM Symposium wrap-up, WashingtonExec featured TJHSST Principal Dr. Evan Glazer, who received the “STEM Champion” Award at the Symposium.

In Executive Moves and Board Appointments, ViON named Tony Encinias Vice President for its Public Sector Strategy, Nathan Associates Inc. appointed Susan B. Chodakewitz CEO and Peter Marino is now on Vistronix’s Board of Directors.

Contract awards went to the Avision Group from Raspberry Golf Management, Capstone Corp. won a task order to support the Navy Wounded Warrior-Safe Harbor Program and Unissant won a contract from DoD.

ECS Federal has partnered with and secured financial investment from Lindsay Goldberg LLC.

In case you missed it, WashingtonExec attended The Women’s Center 29th Annual Leadership Conference last week; Serco Inc. was ranked No. 39 on Forbes’ list of “America’s Best Employers for 2015”; IBM will be investing $3 billion to establish a new “Internet of Things” unit; and Pragmatics Inc. served as a corporate sponsor for GMU’s Laboratory for IN Entrepreneurship “Pitch IT” competition.
