Blue Bell, Penn.-based Unisys Corporation announced March 16 that Discovery Plaza, at One Seventh Street in Augusta, Ga., will be the permanent site of its newest client service center.

“We are excited about locating our new center in this great facility in Augusta,” Unisys Enterprise Solutions President Ron Frankenfield said. “This will be one of three Unisys service centers in the United States delivering innovative solutions for our clients’ mission-critical requirements. We look forward to being part of the Augusta business community and contributing to the growth of the region.”

“We look forward to using the expanded resources and expertise of the Augusta center to continue our tradition of delivering superior customer service for the U.S. Army and other government and commercial clients,” Unisys Federal Systems President Venkatapathi “PV” Puvvada said.

Unisys is currently using temporary office space in Augusta and plans to move into the new facility in the fall. The new service center could potentially create up to 700 local jobs over a five-year period.

Unisys will initially use the new center to provide IT support services to the U.S. Army to act as a single point of contact for Army personnel who need help desk or other end-user IT support services.

Unisys will also provide similar services to commercial clients through the new facility.

The company currently has offices in Blue Bell, Penn.; Reston, Va.; and Australia.
