    Obama Nominates Laverne Horton Council for VA Assistant Secretary for Information and Technology

    Laverne Horton Council, Dept. of Veterans Affairs Assistant Secretary for Information and Technology

    President Barack Obama announced March 18 that he has nominated Laverne Horton Council for the Dept. of Veterans Affairs’ Assistant Secretary for Information and Technology.

    Council previously served as a Johnson & Johnson Vice President and CIO, and has held several executive positions at Dell. She has also led her own firm, Council Advisory Services, since 2012. Council previously worked at Accenture and Ernst & Young.

    Steph Warren has been in the position on an acting basis for two years.
