Washington, D.C.-based Nextgov, Atlantic Media’s publication on IT and innovation, announced Feb. 3 the hiring of Mohana Ravindranath as a Staff Correspondent. Ravindranath will focus on civilian agency technology and IT policy, while also focusing on Capitol Hill and congressional action as it relates to technology. She will also cover current and future federal IT initiatives and the next administration’s technology priorities.

“Mohana is an exceptional journalist who has an already established presence in the tech community,” Nextgov Executive Editor Camille Tuutti said. “We’re thrilled to have her join Nextgov and believe her experience in covering IT, small business and contracting make her a great fit for our growing team.”

Ravindranath most recently worked at The Washington Post, where she covered small businesses, startup financing, employment and information technology. She wrote the weekly “On I.T.” feature for the Post’s Monday print edition, daily blog entries for the Post’s website, and other stories for the Post and its local business magazine, Capital Business. Ravindranath has also previously written about small business issues, startups and entrepreneurship, and city news for The Philadelphia Enquirer and Business Insider.
