Leidos Senior Vice President and Chief Systems Architect, Rob Zitz, and Group Chief Technology Officer, Mike Zuniga, are scheduled to speak during George Washington University’s School of Engineering and Applied Science (SEAS) 9th annual student research and development (R&D) showcase to be held from 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, in the Lehman Auditorium of the Science and Engineering Hall.

“Leidos is pleased to support research projects and activities at George Washington University’s School of Engineering and Applied Science,” Leidos Chief Technology Officer Gulu Gambhir said. “The R&D showcase reflects the kind of learning opportunities that are necessary to help drive innovation, which paves the way for further advances in science and technology.”

Leidos is a platinum sponsor of the GWU SEAS Industry Partners Program.

Zitz is among industry panelists to speak on the topic, “Assessing America’s Cybersecurity Preparedness,” scheduled for 3-4 p.m. Feb. 19, as part of the SEAS Student R&D Showcase.

Zuniga will speak on the topic of innovation and highlight Leidos’ approach to providing innovative solutions to its customers, such as the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA).

The event will feature a display of the top 30 student research posters, a panel of industry and government cybersecurity experts and an awards ceremony that will offer more than $35,000 in cash prizes for students and faculty in experimental, theoretical and entrepreneurship categories. More than 130 student posters entered into the competition, and representatives from Leidos were among the judges.

Leidos is the presenting sponsor for the 2015 K-12 STEM Symposium.
