The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society will host its 2015 Leukemia Ball on Saturday, March 28, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, in Washington, D.C. The black-tie event starts at 6:30 p.m.

The program for the evening includes entertainment from Michael Cavanaugh and Comedian Jim Gaffigan, along with a reception, silent auction, dinner, Mercedes-Benz raffle and dancing.

The James L. Eichberg Lifetime Achievement Award will also be presented. The award recognizes the outstanding accomplishments of an individual who has demonstrated significant dedication and commitment to the mission of LLS, thereby making a significant impact on the lives of patients and families. The recipient will also have demonstrated the same longstanding commitment to community and volunteerism as the award’s namesake, James L. Eichberg.

The event co-chairs are BB&T Bank Group President Dan Waetjen and Baker Tilly Executive Managing Partner Ed Offterdinger.

Since 1988, the annual Leukemia Ball has raised nearly $52 million for the fight against leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma. Each year, the Leukemia Ball is one of the largest non-political black-tie event in Washington, D.C. Approximately 2,000 guests attend the Ball annually.

The silent auction at the 2014 Leukemia Ball raised approximately $307,000.

    Tickets are $1,000 per person.
