At WashingtonExec, we always have our ears to the ground for breaking news and intriguing stories within the government contracting industry. We also know our readers are quite busy, and yet they still need to know what is happening in the industry.

Our Weekly e-Magazine keeps you informed of contract awards, upcoming local events, who’s who in the contracting world, and much more. And, the e-magazine delivers this information quickly so you can get on with your day.

From the INSA Achievement Awards and the 2014 GovCon Awards to a number of major contract wins and a rockin’ group of contractors, it’s been a busy and exciting week. In case you missed this week’s edition, here is what you need to know:

On the nonprofit front, the Sweet Home Virginia Gala, which benefited the Community Foundation of Northern Virginia, raised $490,000. WashingtonExec also had the opportunity to speak with National Kidney Foundation Executive Director Michele Anthony and Wizards Alumni Association Executive Director Bob Dandridge on Saturday’s upcoming 34th Annual Kidney Ball.

Our STEM Series continued with MITRE’s Samantha Palazzolo, who discussed the need for education to get “back to the basics.”

We also interviewed five more INSA Achievement Award Winners — Josh Markow, David  Wilson, Craig J. Wiener, Lt. William Fox and Amy B. Pittman. The award recipients were honored Thursday, Nov. 13.

In our weekly RollCall, JD Kathuria shared his insight on the topics that caught our eyes and ears this past week within our network’s virtual water cooler, including 10 new hires/appointments and 10 November work anniversaries.

We also covered a few major contract wins from TWD, ARRAY, Accenture Federal, CCSi and NCI Inc. There were also acquisitions by Acentia, Raytheon, Bridge Growth Partners, Publicis and Arlington Capital Partners.

For these stories and many more, read our e-magazine here.
