    Preferred Systems Solutions Appoints Fred Funk SVP, National Security Group

    Tysons Corner, Virginia-based Preferred Systems Solutions has appointed of Fred Funk senior vice president of the company’s National Security Group.

    In this new position, Funk will be responsible for PSS’ intelligence operations and business development, as well as advancing and executing merger and acquisition strategies within the intelligence community.

    “We are extremely fortunate to have a talent like Fred on our team,” PSS CEO Scott Goss said. “Fred brings an impressive broad and unique background in Operations, M&A and Finance to PSS.”

    “I am looking forward to working with the PSS team to continue to build a great company to serve the important needs of our country,” Funk said. “We are going to have some fun!”

    Funk was a co-founder of The KEYW Holding Corp., a provider of cyber superiority, cybersecurity and geospatial intelligence solutions for U.S. government intelligence and defense customers and commercial enterprises. His positions at the company included CFO, VP of corporate development and VP of national security solutions.

    Funk also previously served as VP for corporate development at Essex Corp., an intelligence community services and solutions provider.

    PSS provides IT infrastructure, software development, enterprise resource planning and financial consulting services to government and commercial clients.
