High-technology services firm Sevatec Inc. announced Sept. 10 the appointment of retired U.S. Air Force Brig. Gen. Balan Ayyar as Sevatec’s Chief Operating Officer (COO).
Ayyar will focus on ensuring Sevatec’s continued operational capability to achieve its federal clients’ mission critical objectives.

Ayyar is a senior executive with more than 20 years of experience leading organizations ranging from 300 to more than 6,000 personnel in complex operations involving nuclear weapons, intelligence, global supply chain and national security.
Ayyar is the first General Officer in his class year from any of the military services. In addition, he is a White House Fellow and member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
Ayyar graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy, holds master degrees from the National Defense University and Auburn University, and completed the Senior Fellow Program at Harvard University.
