Falls Church, Va.-based ENSCO Inc. said yesterday that Dr. Thomas Burns will step down as President and CEO for personal reasons related to his health.

“Our business and support to our customers will continue without interruption or compromise as we search for a President and CEO,” Executive Chairman of the Board Paul W. Broome said. “Our search for the right candidate has begun, and we look forward to having that person in place as soon as possible. In the meantime, we are confident that Mr. Young will bring the stability to continue business operations seamlessly and to support our customers, shareholders and employees.”

Gregory Young, who Dr. Burns took over for as in June 2014, will return as Acting President and CEO until the company identifies a permanent successor.
