Ted Davies on Wednesday took the reins at Altamira Technologies Corporation as chief executive officer, just days after retiring from his post as president of the Unisys Federal Systems business unit, Altamira announced in a press statement released today.

Davies led Unisys through cost cutting measures for six years before today joining Altamira, an open source technology company based in Mclean, Va that formed in January of last year.

“We are thrilled to announce that we have successfully recruited and hired Ted Davies to join Altamira as its new CEO,” said Arun Gupta, Altamira board member.  “Ted brings an incredible track record of success.  We were particularly impressed with Ted’s ability to take Unisys into new and disruptive technology and solution areas and the resultant growth of numerous revenue streams.”

Altamira was formed through the merger of Near Infinity Corporation and Invertix Corporation in 2013.

Davies, who is a Federal 100 Award winner and also serves as the executive vice-chair at the American Council for Technology-Industry Advisory Council (ACT-IAC), said he is eager to build upon the new opportunity.

“I’m truly honored to have been invited to lead Altamira as CEO and look forward to building on the incredible foundation of talent, technology, and solutions that have positioned Altamira as a market leader,” Davies said, noting he is “ready and excited to tackle the challenges ahead.”
