Serco Inc. last week announced it’s set to provide installation support to the U.S. Navy Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command’s (SPAWAR) USS Ronald Reagan under a task order on a $17.5 million Sea Enterprise II contract vehicle.

The agreement contracts the professional, technology and management services company based in Reston, Va. to deliver command, control, communications, computer, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance or C4ISR solutions to support the Navy’s consolidated afloat networks and enterprise networks.

The work request signals an intention on the Navy’s art to combine its numerous shipboard networks into a single network.

This is not the first SPAWAR contract for Serco — the company touts a 15 year history supporting the Navy’s SPAWAR.

“We have a great team in San Diego ready to support SPAWAR with high quality service on this installation,” said Serco chief executive, Dan Allen, the company chairman.  “We will put to use our extensive knowledge of C4ISR solutions to support the warfighters aboard the USS Ronald Reagan and USS Carl Vinson.”

Allen just recently joined Serco as CEO.
