Mark your calendars for the first annual Boulder Crest Retreat (BCR) Charity Golf Tournament set for Sept. 18 at the Stoneleigh Golf and Country Club in Round Hill, Va.
More than just a day of golf, the inaugural event invites professionals and those keen on aiding wounded Veteran the opportunity to do just that.
One hundred percent of the day’s proceeds benefit the Boulder Crest Retreat for Military and Veteran Wellness — a 37 acre retreat devoted to caring for physically and psychologically-wounded servicemembers and veterans.
Founded last September, the retreat sprung up as a non-profit 501 (c) 3 organization aimed at providing wounded veterans and their families with services that the that the county and state could not afford to deliver.
This past year the sanctuary served — for no cost — 500 wounded warriors and their families for relaxation, rehabilitation and reintegration into the workforce said Sal Fazzolari, the senior vice president for strategic development at CRGT Inc.
Fazzolari’s company — CRGT Inc. — is slated to serve as presenting sponsor alongside Veterans Management Services, Inc. (VMSI) for the all-day golf tournament.
“An important goal at BCR is to give these wounded Veterans and their families a rural retreat to get away from the hospitals, doctors, military and media to reconnect with their families and, as they are nearing medical separation from the military to start making important decisions for their family such as “where are we going to live now”, “how are we going to feed our children”, “who is going to work now that I, the Veteran may not be able to work any longer,’” Fazzolari wrote in an email.
Fazzolari spoke earlier this year at a Hire Our Heroes — a seminar hosted at Boulder Crest Retreat in January — where he spoke about Veteran employment and military mentoring. He also opened up to WashingtonExec in May for an interview about his nonprofit initiatives.
The group has priced tickets for September’s event at $1,500 per foursome with registration including golf shirt and shoes, a hot buffet lunch and dinner, beer and soft drinks, silent and live auctions, a golfer grab bag, contests and cash prizes.
Register before September 5 to reserve a spot.
