Dr. Mark Hewitt last week joined Lockheed Martin as Vice President of Strategy for the company’s Information Systems & Global Solutions (IS&GS) business, the company announced in a press statement.

Promoted about a year ago to executive vice president and chief strategy officer at QinetiQ North America (QNA) — which the SI Organization acquired in April —  the executive will in his new post develop and manage Lockheed Martin’s strategic planning as well as oversee its intelligence services and market analysis.

Gerry Fassano, the vice president of strategy & business development within Lockheed Martin’s IS&GS business, said today strategic positioning and managing competitive intelligence are critical to business success.

“Dr. Hewitt’s extensive executive experience will provide us with great advantage as we continue to identify growth opportunities and ways to maintain our competitive edge,” Fassano said.

Hewitt also served roles in the government — holding positions at the U.S. Department of Defense and the FBI.
