SRA International last month named David Fisher, formerly the chief risk officer and senior advisor to the commissioner at the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), to serve as vice president and business transformation officer of the IT solutions and professional services company.

Fisher is slated in his new post with leading the company’s business transformation program to aid the company in optimizing internal business process efficiency and effectiveness while also driving process improvement.

“We are pleased to welcome David to the SRA team,” said Tim Atkin, the company’s executive vice president and chief administrative officer. “David’s thought leadership and extensive operational experience in the public and private sectors will strengthen how we support our employees and our customers.  He will provide SRA, and our customers, with strategies and practices that will enable us to consistently meet the dynamic needs of the federal government market in order to achieve exceptional operational performance.”

Fisher held public service positions at the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) and the Department of Defense prior to his work at the IRS. He worked in the private sector prior to that as a managing director for BearingPoint.

SRA International in April secured a $148 million contract to serve the GAO Information Systems and Technology Services (ISTS) through IT infrastructure and operational support. Read about the contract award here.
