AT&T Government Solutions (AGS) will continue to provide cloud-based voice-over-IP 11 routing and call handling to the U.S. Navy under a $10.4 million contract, the company announced last week.

The Oakton, Va.-based division of communications holding company AT&T Inc. underpins its network with four data centers that are geographically diverse, the company wrote — a move which makes its network backbone resilient.

Kay Kapoor, president of the solutions group, said the unit is proud to serve the Navy’s facilities with the service.  “The AT&T 911 platform enables seamless site integration within current Navy infrastructure and places the Navy in a pre-eminent place in addressing the 911 enhancements specified in the Ft. Hood After Action report,” Kapoor said.

AGS in March secured a $12 million contract to support the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation through a range of wide area network (WAN) services. Read about that and the company’s January staff changes here and here.
