Twenty-nine Greater Washington area entrepreneurs made the finalist cut for this year’s Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards set for June 19 at the Ritz Carlton in Tysons Corner.
An independent judging panel comprised of regional business leaders and previous award recipients compiled the list, and winners will be revealed at the black-tie Awards gala in June.
Among the nominees were Roy Kapani, the chairman and former chief executive of ECS Federal, Inc., Carahsoft President Craig Abod, and the three former Georgetown University student co-founders of sweetgreen: Nicolas Jammet, Jonathan Neman and Nathaniel Ru.
The EY Entrepreneur of the Year award honors those who demonstrate entrepreneurial excellence in business as well as leadership in building and successfully growing business that influence the way we live and the economic vibrancy of our global markets and local communities, according to the professional services firm’s website.
