This week, which marks the third anniversary of WashingtonExec‘s launch, brings readers a new e-magazine with the latest information on The SI Organization’s acquisition of QinetiQ North America. The acquisition took place Tuesday.

In other news, check out the latest from Sid Fuchs, chief executive officer at MacB, who spoke at the most recent WashingtonExec Council Roundtable. He noted, “If you are ignoring HR, you are ignoring your people.”

Also in the e-magazine, readers will find featured stories including an interview with Small and Emerging Contractors Advisory Forum (SECAF) Gala co-chairs Mark Moore, Scott Brezler and Cameron Hamilton. The sixth-annual gala, which recognizes small businesses in the government contracting community, will be held May 1. Other featured stories highlight Cynthia Walker, who was appointed in March to director of Salient Federal Solutions’ Data Analytics Center of Excellence; United Through Reading board member Mike Bradshaw, who discusses UTR and its benefit for military service members, as well as UTR’s Tribute to Military Families Gala to be held May 21; and US STEM Foundation President Doug Donegan, who talks about STEM initiatives.

Also check out more STEM news, including a visit to the USA Science & Engineering Festival’s expo April 26-27, from television celebrity Danica McKellar (“The Wonder Years,” “Dancing with the Stars”). McKellar has authored a variety of books encouraging young girls to enjoy mathematics. In related news, check out an article on Larry Bock, who co-founded the festival.

In federal contract award news, readers will find information on SRA International, which recently won a $148 million U.S. Government Accountability contract.

Readers will also find information on executive transitions and appointments, including Triple-i, which appointed federal industry IT veteran Edward Meagher as its chief operating officer; and MTN Government, which launched an advisory board.

And, the e-magazine brings readers plenty of information on upcoming local events, including a book signing by author David Kriegman on April 30.

Also, check out WashingtonExec for awards notices and a black-tie dinner guide of events, including NVTC ‘s June 2 banquet. There, winners of the 18th-annual 2014 Greater Washington Technology CFO Awards will be announced.

WashingtonExec is proud to present readers a variety of must-know local business news each week. Readers can sign up for the e-magazine and view the full newsletter here.
