    QinetiQ North America Appoints Mark Lucas as Strategic Programs Director

    QinetiQ North America (QNA), a Reston, Va.-based defense and security technology company, last week appointed Mark “Luke” Lucas as Strategic Programs Director of the company’s Mission Solutions unit.

    Lucas will work in his new role to support business development efforts, lead QNA’s Patuxent River Operations and team with a variety of the company’s command and control system teams.

    The retired Navy commander in his previous posts led warfare and acquisitions analysis at WBB, Inc. — a consulting firm — and prior to that served as International Program Manager for the US European Command J4 Directorate.

    QNA Executive Vice President, John Sutton, the company’s general manager of Mission Solutions, spoke to to Lucas’s expertise.

    “Luke Lucas is a great asset for our Patuxent River operations,” said John Sutton, executive vice president and general manager, Mission Solutions, QinetiQ North America. “His acquisition, security and operational expertise will significantly enhance our support to our Navy customers and programs.”

    Lucas touts a Master of Business Administration from Regis University and an Oceanography B.S. degree from the United States Naval Academy.
