Addison Group, a professional staffing services company headquartered in Chicago, Co., last week announced it acquired the Reston, Va.-based firm HireStrategy, also a professional staffing firm. The merger signaled moves to expand Addison Group’s expertise across IT, finance and administrative services segments.

The company did not disclose terms of the transaction, but noted in a press statement the partnership aligns with Addison Group’s strategy to organically expand by acquiring growing high-margin firms that tout complementary business offerings.

Both HireStrategy and Addison Group help companies staff their IT, human resources, finance, accounting and administrative job functions through executive search, contract-to-hire and contract staffing services.

HireStrategy President Paul Villella, also the company’s CEO,  co-founded the company in 2000 and will retain his CEO post once the organization expands.

“We look forward to leveraging our industry leading consultative approach over a larger platform to increase our market reach in the Mid-Atlantic region and across the East Coast,” Villella said.

Addison Group CEO Thomas Moran said he is confident the acquired company’s expertise in the mid-Atlantic region as well as the Washington, D.C. market will make the partnership a valuable one.
