Novetta Solutions, a technology firm specializing in advanced analytics, has announced the appointment of Jim Cushman as the company’s new senior vice president responsible for commercial markets and products.

Cushman will be responsible for leading the marketing and implementation of Novetta’s advanced analytics technology solutions for the industry’s most challenging data problems.

“Jim is a strategic hire for Novetta and we are thrilled to welcome him to the team ,” said Novetta’s CEO, Peter LaMontagne. “He has an exceptional track record in the analytics technology market — in sales, product development and operations. Jim is the right executive to accelerate our go-to-market success in the commercial sector.”

Cushman previously served as vice president of Business Process & Decision Management for IBM where he led a team of 750 engineers in the design, development, delivery, support and operations of four products generating more than $500 million dollars in annual revenue. He previously served as IBM’s director of Master Data Management, where he set and directed product strategy to converge five acquired products into the market’s leading Master Data Management platform.

Cushman has extensive experience in the Analytics market, having been a key C-level executive during the success of Initiate Systems, a master data management software company, sold to IBM in 2010, according to a Novetta Solutions press release.

He also led Initiate Systems as the company’s senior vice president and general manager. There, he also contributed to the development of three commercially successful patents.

Cushman earned Bachelor of Science degree from Purdue University and has performed numerous speaking engagements about MDM, data analytics, data integration and entity resolution.

Novetta Solutions has multiple office locations, including its McLean headquarters.
