Pamela Drew, who joined Exelis Inc. in January 2013, has been promoted to executive vice president.
Drew will also retain her role as president of the company’s Information Systems business, a provider of advanced engineering services and integrated network solutions throughout the full life cycle of mission critical networks. Drew is also responsible for the strategic direction and execution of Critical Networks — one of four Exelis Strategic Growth Platforms.
“Since joining Exelis in January of 2013, Pam has been a tremendous addition to the Exelis senior leadership team,” said David F. Melcher, chief executive officer and president of Exelis Inc. “This promotion is well-deserved and I’m looking forward to seeing her contributions to the business in her new role as executive vice president.”
Prior to joining Exelis, Drew was the senior vice president of Strategic Capabilities and Technology at TASC, Inc., leading a team that provided systems engineering and integration, cyber security, financial and business analytics and test and evaluation solutions to address intelligence, defense and federal-civilian customer needs. In an earlier role at TASC, Drew led the Enterprise Systems business unit that served defense and federal civil agencies including the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
Earlier, she served as the sector vice president of business development for Northrop Grumman’s Mission Systems sector. She also served as vice president and general manager for Boeing’s Integrated Defense and Security Solutions organization, where she led strategy and business generation in the homeland and global security, civil, and commercial markets.
Drew received a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from the University of Colorado, Boulder, where she also completed her doctorate and master’s degree in computer science.
Exelis, headquartered in McLean, is a global aerospace, defense, information and services company.
