Northrop Grumman Corporation, a global security company providing computer network and cyber security services, announced Monday that it has been awarded a contract with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to provide operational services to the United States Computer Emergency Readiness Team (US-CERT).
The five-year, single-award, indefinite-delivery contract is worth up to $350 million, the company announced.
“US-CERT is a franchise program for the Department of Homeland Security,” said Jim Myers, vice president and general manager for cyber solutions at Northrop Grumman. “We are honored to partner with the U.S. government to enhance the nation’s cybersecurity posture by helping identify to identify cyber threats and manage the coordinated response to those threats.”
US-CERT works to protect the nation’s Internet infrastructure by coordinating defense against and in response to cyber attacks. It also analyzes and decreases cyber threats and vulnerabilities, provides cyber threat warning information and keeps track of incident responses among the federal government, intelligence community, international partners, state and local government, law enforcement and the private sector.
