Citizant, a provider of IT management consulting and business transformation solutions to the U.S. government, has appointed four experienced industry leaders to its board of directors, the company announced Wednesday.
Citizant’s new board members are Ann John, president of RAI, LLC and former president of SpecTal; James Ballard, president of Global Services & Solutions, Inc. and former president of Perot Systems Government Services; Peter Schulte, managing partner of CM Equity Partners; and Daniel Mendez, general manager of Unwired Planet’s Intellectual Property Division and former chief technology officer for American Management Systems.
“Citizant is privileged to have such an accomplished team to provide us with strategic counsel and who believe strongly in Citizant’s growth potential,” said Citizant CEO Alba Alemán. “Collectively, they have all the wisdom and experience required to help us focus on the right investments and remove all obstacles to growth, as we strive to create value for our employees, customers and shareholders.”
Citizant expanded its board of directors after re-capitalizing the company at the end of 2012 and consolidating ownership under Alemán. The loan transaction was financed by Citizant’s existing bank, SunTrust Bank, and by CM Equity Partners, a private equity group that specializes in strategic investments in government contracting firms.
“Growing in today’s complex market environment requires extraordinary effort to differentiate your company from the competition,” said Ballard. “Customers no longer want to be satisfied – they expect to be delighted – and this is possible only through world-class products and services. Alba Alemán and her team at Citizant have made these critical principles the hallmark of their company culture and the foundation of their strategy for future growth. Their commitment to excellence positions them very well for continued growth and a strong leadership position in our industry.”
