WashingtonExec hosted a bustling crowd of the DC-area’s top thought leaders and executives Wednesday evening at Maggiano’s Little Italy Restaurant in Tyson’s Corner, Va for the first happy hour event of new year. The evening brought together executives from across industry for an evening of networking and conversation as we propel into 2014.
Bala Sundar, CEO of SyApps, and JD Kathuria, President & CEO of WashingtonExec, briefly spoke at the event in which he formally announced WashingtonExec’s inaugural STEM Symposium, an event that will bring over 500 parents, students, teachers, corporate/government executives, and non-profit change-agents in our region. “WashingtonExec’s Happy Hour was the perfect forum for fellow GovCon executives to take a much needed strategic pause and engage with current and new colleagues. No pre-defined business agendas – just genuine connections with good people,” said Mike Murphy, Vice President, Mission Support Group, GCS, Inc.
The mission of these events is to connect government contracting executives of consequence through targeted and trusted forums.
“WashingtonExec events are the best in the business. I have to chuckle at the myriad conferences with lofty names like, “summit” when in reality these are all networking sessions. JD Kathuria, with Brynn Koeppen, have assembled people in the federal contracting industry, including government officials, who meet, exchange information, and foster business relationships that further the interests of all involved.
I have found excellent teaming partners and met very impressive people for enhanced offerings to customers as well as expanded business capabilities. Some of us have collaborated for great solutions to customers, we have won business together, and frankly we have often established friendships and trusts that extend beyond contracting.
These are invaluable relationships and I am honored to be a part of WashingtonExec and to have met these great people. This is unashamed, open, and invaluable networking and this week’s happy hour was happy and as always, fruitful,” said Dick Bodson, President of SUBSYSTEMs.
Attendees included members of the WashingtonExec Federal Acquisition Council for Business Development Professionals, Mobility Council, Big Data Council, Leadership Council, Intelligence Council, Strategic Human Capital Council, MARCOM Committee and the Federal Business Council.
