Intercom Federal Systems, a wholly owned subsidiary of Intercom Consulting & Federal Systems, has hired Dennis B. Boykin, IV to serve as its Chief Operating Officer effective today. Boykin will be responsible for executive leadership and implementation of profitable growth strategies as well as supporting key new accounts while maintaining high levels of customer service for Intercom’s government customers.

“Dennis has been a senior consultant to Intercom for several years. In this new role, he will have direct oversight of Intercom Federal’s business development, capture and proposal operations, business intelligence functions, and marketing operations,” said Randy Coppersmith, Intercom’s Chairman and CEO. “He has been tasked with creating new business partnerships, to build on our existing IDIQ contracts and to help further diversify our growing government business.

“Dennis will report directly to me, but will work closely with Intercom Federal Systems’ President Mike Strich and our entire senior leadership team,” said Coppersmith. “We’re excited he’s decided to join us full-time. We wish him only success.”

Intercom specializes in Information Technology, Cyber-Security and Operational Management Support for government customers. Intercom Federal System’s cyber practice, with a focus on Continuous Monitoring as a Service, is among the company’s fastest growing business units.

“Intercom Federal Systems is a unique organization dedicated to the success of its customers by focusing on “the how” of getting things done. I’ve had a long association with the firm, and I am extremely excited about joining the family,” said Boykin. “I look forward to working with my colleagues as we work together to take Intercom Federal Systems to the next level.”

Before joining Intercom Federal Systems, Boykin founded and managed DB4 Consulting, LLC, a full-service business development and capture management firm. Prior to 2009, he was the Senior Vice President of Business Development at STG, having led STG’s Foreign Affairs Business Unit starting in 2003.  Boykin’s industry experience began with an operational role focused on the DoD marketplace at NCI Information Systems, following a successful 24-year military career.  Mr. Boykin earned a B.S. in Business Administration at the University of Arizona, and an M.B.A. from Webster University.  He has served on multiple corporate advisory boards and has public service experience as the Chairman of the Leesburg, Virginia Executive Airport Commission.
