WashingtonExec’s executive happy hour last week was sponsored by its newly-formed Federal Acquisition Council for Business Development Professionals at Maggianos in Tysons II. The casual evening brought together industry executives for an evening of networking and discussion regarding the possibilities for evolution and innovation within the industry during times of extreme uncertainty and change.
The Council’s co-chairman, James Scampavia, Vice President of Business Development at AMERICAN SYSTEMS, was among those in attendance. During the event, WashingtonExec illuminated the framework for the newly developed business development program.
The Council is working closely with the George Washington University (GWU) Master of Science in Government Contracts Program in order to gain market insights, build a pipeline for future BD professionals, as well as target and recruit future speakers from the federal sector.
“I always look forward to WashingtonExec events, because as a relatively new leader focused on the government, I know how important building and maintaining relationships are for my business to succeed. In this challenging environment, we all know the partnerships and friendships made can be a significant differentiator when the time is needed. As with many events, it is only as beneficial as the amount of effort you personally put into it. The WashingtonExec group continues to get the right people at the right time to make this difference,” said Doug Charles, President & CEO of Capgemini Government Solutions.
Attendees included members of WashingtonExec’s Mobility Council, Big Data Council, Leadership Council, Intel Council, Strategic Human Capital Council, MARCOM Committee and the Federal Business Council.
