    The Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC) hosted its latest Titans Breakfast series, featuring U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia as keynote speaker. Attain CEO and Chairman Greg Baroni introduced Scalia, who brought copies of his latest book for attendees. To read more on the event, click here.

    Also taking place this week was WashingtonExec’s Fall Happy Hour event. Industry and government executives attended the networking event and a new Federal Acquisition Council for Business Development Professionals Executive Council was announced.     Featured this week was RJ Kolton, Senior Vice President of Business Development at Data Systems Analysts, Inc. (DSA). Kolton discussed his military background, how to grow business is an downturn economy, his role at DSA and more. Click here to read the interview.

    In other news, DMI acquired mobile enterprise solutions firm Golden Gekko. The acquisition will add hundreds of mobile designers to DMI’s roster. Golden Gekko has developed more than 1,500 mobile sites and apps in the past five years for brands including ESPN, Toyota, and Anheuser-Busch Inbev. Read more on DMI’s acquisition here.

    This month, a series of events will take place. USGIF is hosting the GEOINT 2013 Symposium October 13th-16th, George Mason University is hosting the “Share Your Science” networking event October 17th and the Community Foundation for Northern Virginia is hosting its Sweet Home Virginia Gala on October 25th.
