Lt. Gen. Dr. Charles B. Green (USAF, ret.), formerly Surgeon General of the Air Force, has joined Deloitte’s Federal practice as a director in Deloitte Consulting LLP, and will serve as the chief medical officer for Deloitte’s Federal Health practice. In his new role, Dr. Green will serve as an advisor to Deloitte’s federal and commercial health clients and help them in their efforts to excel in clinical public health leadership.

In his former role as Surgeon General, Dr. Green served as the functional manager of the U.S. Air Force Medical Service. In that capacity, he advised the Secretary of the Air Force and Air Force Chief of Staff, as well as the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs on matters pertaining to the medical aspects of the air expeditionary force and the health of Air Force service members and their families.
General Green was commissioned through the Health Professions Scholarship Program and entered active duty in 1978 after completing his Doctorate of Medicine degree at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. He has served as commander of four hospitals, including Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. As command surgeon for three major commands, he planned joint medical response for operations Desert Thunder and Desert Fox, and oversaw aeromedical evacuation for operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. He has previously served as Assistant Surgeon General for Health Care Operations and Deputy Surgeon General.
