Leading up to the Choral Arts Gala on December 16th 2013, the Choral Arts Society hosts multiple pre-gala receptions. The first of took place at the Old Town Alexandria, Va. home of Choral Arts board member George Wilson and his wife Ashley last month. Attendees of the reception included business leaders, technology executives and social leaders.
“My introduction to the Choral Arts was years ago when attending my first Choral Arts Holiday Concert and Gala: There is no other event in D.C. like it,” said Wilson, as he welcomed his guests. “I have supported Choral Arts ever since, and I encourage you to do the same.”
George, who is President and COO of ECS Federal Solutions, and his wife Ashley introduced Olwen Pongrace, this year’s Gala Chair and Choral Arts board member. “Ashley and I were last year’s Co-Chairs, so we know first-hand the support Olwen needs from all of you!”
Pongrace talked about her love for Choral Arts and added, “My favorite thing about Choral Arts is attending the Concerts for Students and seeing inner-city school children enjoying choral music.” She thanked the Wilsons for their hospitality, and recognized Wesley King and Pamela Johnson from PE Systems, a Choral Arts Season Sponsor.
Artistic Director Scott Tucker introduced four members of the Choral Arts Chorus, Julie Huang, Erin Crowley, Michael Boyce, and Brandon Straub (Choral Arts Associate Conductor and Pianist), who sang three Italian Madrigals, a tribute to Gala Honorary Patrons the Ambassador of Italy and Mrs. Bisogniero.
