The ball is rolling on the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) National Capital Chapter’s 2014 Leukemia Ball. The annual fundraising event kicked off on Sept. 10 at the Congressional Country Club with some of Washington D.C.’s top executives in attendance.
The 27th annual event aims to raise $3 million for LLS’s mission to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
The kick off event was led by Sr. co-Chair Candy Duncan, Managing Partner at KPMG’s Washington Metro Region, and co-chair Dan Waetjen, Group President at BB&T. Also in attendance were long-time LLS supporters Bobby Mitchell, an NFL Hall of Famer, and his wife Gwen. Mitchell was recently awarded the 2014 James L.
