NBC4 Washington just launched a new pilot program, GovInnovate, and will be airing its first show this weekend at noon on Saturday, August 24th and Sunday August 25th. The General Services Administration’s (GSA) Dave McClure will moderate a panel of federal, state and local IT leaders discussing the highlights and challenges of cloud computing in the government.
Those featured on the panel include some state and local government executives, IT CTO for NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory Tom Soderstrom, as well as the following government CIOs:
- Casey Coleman-General Services Administration
- Darren Ash-Nuclear Regulatory Commission
- Joe Klimavicz-National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration
- Keith Trippie-Department of Homeland Security
- Simon Szykman-Department of Commerce
- Stephen Warren (Acting CIO)-Department of Veterans Affairs
The panel will touch on the business benefits and challenges of using cloud solutions in government as well as what business or mission capabilities are suited for cloud computing services and environments.
