    In this week’s news, Susan Zimmerman joined CACI International as Senior Vice President of Strategic Campaigns. The executive comes from QinetiQ North America, where she served as senior vice president for corporate development. In her new role, Zimmerman will focus on evaluating, bidding and capturing market opportunities for CACI. To read more on this story, click here.

    This week we featured multiple executives, including Terry Thornton of Harris IT Services. The Vice President and General Manager of Intel, Civil, and Healthcare IT Programs at Harris IT Services and has more than 25 years of DOD program and IT management experience. He shared with us his definition of mobility and its impact on the healthcare IT industry. To read out interview with Thornton, click here.

    We also featured CSC’s Larry Prior. The exec was recently named Vice President and General Manager of the firm’s Defense and Intelligence group. The former Marine Corps intelligence officer discussed his outlook of the marketplace in the next 12-18 months, and growth areas for the defense and intelligence communities.     In other news, Mobilegov wrapped up its 4thAnnual Federal Mobile Computing Summit at the Ronald Reagan and International Trade Center. The summit examined the post-Digital Government Strategy landscape and looked at how agencies have actually implemented mobility within their organizations.

    August is almost here, and AFCEA’s Women in NOVA (WIN) Committee will be hosting a breakfast on the Convergence of Cyber and Physical Security August 15, 2013 at the Sheraton Premiere in Tysons Corner.
