SERCO Inc., a federal government professional, technology and management services company, announced last Friday that they had received the 2013 James S. Cogswell Outstanding Industrial Achievement Award from the Department of Defense, Defense Security Service (DDS).

The Cogswell Award is the most prestigious recognition given by the Federal government for a cleared defense contractor that demonstrates industrial security excellence, going above and beyond the requirements of the National Industrial Security Program (NISP) and delivering leadership to other cleared facilities in the highest caliber.

Out of 13,500+ defense contractors SERCO was selected to be one of the 24 recipients. Winning this award means that the company has a sustained degree of excellence and innovation in their overall security program management, implementation and oversight and has at least two consecutive superior industrial security review ratings.

“We are honored to receive the Cogswell Award in recognition of our dedication and focus on security excellence.  Our team here at SERCO recognizes that national security impacts the safety of our war fighters and our Nation,” said SERCO Chairman and CEO Ed Casey. “We are committed to protecting national security, while providing best-in-class services to our customers.”

The 24 recipients were publicly announced at the 2013 Annual Conference of National Classification Management Society (NCMS) in Chicago on June 26.
