Last month, S M Resources Corporation (SMRC) was recognized as one of the U.S. Pan Asian American Chamber of Commerce (USPAACC) 2013 “Fast 50 Asian American Businesses.” The announcement was made at the CelebrAsian Procurement Opportunity Conference in Garden Grove, Calif.

SMRC President and CEO Neelu Modali attended the conference to personally accept a plaque of recognition. “We are honored to be chosen as a recipient of this prestigious award. This recognizes the success SMRC has experienced and demonstrates our commitment to a long and prosperous future for the company,” he stated.

This is the first time SMRC has received this award. Awardees were chosen from a nationwide search for companies with a majority ownership by Asian Americans and at least $1 million in revenue for the previous three fiscal years. Companies were identified from industries including supply chain management, healthcare, professional staffing, food wholesale, IT, environmental, green energy, and media.

The USPAACC Education Foundation is a non-profit that exists to represent Asian American and Asian American-related groups. Their goal through this award is to recognize and continue to drive Asian American businesses towards goals of economic prosperity and achievement.
