Subsystem Technologies, Inc., (SUBSYSTEMs) has acquired technology solutions firm Alapko, Inc. Alapko will be a wholly owned subsidiary of SUBSYSTEMs. Based in Annapolis, Md., the firm was started in 2008 and provides cyber security and budgetary analysis solutions for the Intelligence Community.

“Alapko is an outstanding company that provides a perfect strategic fit for our business,” said Sam Malhotra, CEO of SUBSYSTEMs. “John Kovach and Matt Zerphy have built an outstanding team that provides excellent customer service and leading-edge technologies key to critical customer missions.”

John Kovach, CEO at Alapko, said his firm spent a considerable amount of time and effort looking for a partner with a similar ethos to theirs. He said Alapko “found a strong fit with our unique culture of innovation in SUBSYSTEMs. Both our clients and employees will significantly benefit from this combination of technical expertise that will ultimately provide unique client solutions.”

Some of the other services Alapko provides include full lifecycle development and support services for database management, business intelligence, business process re-engineering and Capital Planning and Investment Control (CPIC) enterprise budget applications.

“Our two companies have great complementary technical expertise,” added Dick Bodson, president at SUBSYSTEMs. “One, if not the, attraction is the extreme dedication and desire of the leaders of both companies to provide excellent solutions and services to our federal government clients.”

Matt Zerphy, President at Alapko, said that finding the complementary technical and philosophical match in SUBSYSTEMs, and furthering employee opportunities and customer support capabilities, “made this the deal we wanted to pursue. Allying Alapko and SUBSYSTEMs is a great decision, as is being proven in the company transition.”
