PwC US last week announced Charles Beard, the former senior vice president and general manager of SAIC’s Cybersecurtiy Group, joined the firm as a principal who will aim to augment the advisory practice’s cybersecurtiy-related services.
The announcement comes on the heels of the release of PwC’s 16th annual CEO Survey which suggests CEOs recognize the strategic importance of maintaining cybersecurity.
Thirty one percent of those surveyed said they thought a cyber attack or major internet disruption was likely at their company, and 68 percent of respondents said an attack would negatively impact their company, according to the PwC survey.
“As organizations recognize digital attacks are a routine part of doing business, cybersecurity has become a key business priority at the top of the CEO agenda – and one that can even bring competitive advantage,” PwC Principal David Burg said, noting Beard’s extensive experience in cybersecurity, consulting and technology would be helpful to PwC. “He will be an important member of the team as we work with clients to confront the ongoing challenges of conducting business in a world that relies on technology to drive innovation.”
Beard graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science degree, and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Montana.
