It felt like anything but Spring last night (blame the Groundhog) but the frigid temperatures did not stop WashingtonExec from hosting its ninth invitation-only government contracting executive happy hour in Tysons Corner. The event was sponsored by the WashingtonExec STEM Council.

The casual affair brought over 50 executives in federal contracting to mingle and connect with new faces, past employees, previous bosses, lost connections, as well as current teaming partners and competitors.

“WashingtonExec happy hours provide opportunities to meet new people important for business networking, but more importantly, a chance to strengthen relationships over time. Business deals follow trust, and trust takes time. I appreciate the opportunities to continue to get to know WashingtonExec members in these highly efficient formats,” said Gary Shiffman, CEO of Giant Oak, LLC.

The mission of these events is to connect government contracting executives of consequence through targeted and trusted forums. Attendees included members of WashingtonExec‘s Mobility Council, Big Data Council, Leadership Council, MARCOM Committee, Federal Business Council, Strategic Human Capital  and Critical-Talent Council and the newly-formed STEM Council. The goal of the Strategic Human Capital Council is to allow the VP of HR and one hand-selected high potential to build a peer network to expand their functional experience and challenge new ways of doing business.
