    Anne Altman, IBM

The Institute for Excellence in Sales and Business Development (IES&BD) will be holding its third annual sales and business development awards ceremony on April 12, 2013 at the USA Today/Gannett building in Tysons Corner. Referred to as the “Oscars of  sales achievement,” the awards recognize companies and organizations that have demonstrated outstanding leadership and strategic vision in sales and business development.

The 2013 award finalists include Deltek, Cisco, Xerox, EMC Isilon, MicroTech and Blackboard. Finalists will be competing for awards in the five following categories: Excellence in Sales and Business Development Innovation, Excellence in Team Building, Management and Development, Excellence in Sales Training, Excellence in Customer Partnering, and Excellence in Alliance Management.

The event will recognize Anne Altman, head of IBM‘s Global Public Sector Sales, with the 2013 IES&BD Lifetime Achievement Award. Having served at IBM since 1981, Altman has been credited with establishing IBM’s footprint as a major force in the U.S. Federal market. She is responsible for the strategy, direction and development of solutions, and sales for driving IBM’s multi-billion dollar business with Federal Government clients in the U.S. She is also a recipient of the prestigious Eagle Award, one of the highest honors presented to technology partners serving in the Federal market.

A portion of the proceeds from this event will benefit the Northern Virginia Family Services (NVFS).
