SAVE THE DATE: 12th Annual AFCEA Homeland Security Conference, Feb. 26-28

AFCEA is returning to Washington, D.C. to host the twelfth annual Homeland Security Conference, “Securing the Homeland: Working Together, Keeping the Nation Safe” at the Grand Hyatt Washington from February 26-28, 2013.Various government and industry leaders, CIOs, and program managers involved in operations, policy and procurement will come together to discuss several best practice issues including cloud security, emergency management, as well as cyber and homeland security cross-over issues, including situational awareness, training and education, the energy sector, and privacy and security conflicts.The conference will feature several roundtables focusing on chief information officers, procurement executives, and disaster management and collaboration. Keynote Speakers include:

  • Rand Beers, Under Secretary for the National Protection and Programs Directorate (NPPD), Department of Homeland Security
  • Gen Michael V. Hayden , USAF (Ret.), Principal, the Chertoff Group, Former Director, Central Intelligence Agency
  • John Fass Morton, Author, Next Generation Homeland Security: Network Federalism and the Course to National Preparedness
  • J. Alan Orlob, Vice President, Global Safety and Security, Marriott International

The conference will also host 80 exhibitors that showcase the latest homeland security technologies, including communications equipment, emergency response systems, network and information security, and more.New for this year is AFCEA’s Small Business Partnership Symposium and matchmaking session that will be hosted on Feb. 26 at the conference. The symposium will focus on connecting small business and primes to discuss partnering and teaming opportunities.The exhibits are open to the public (on-site registration required), but there is a registration fee to attend the speakers and panel sessions.
