Richard M. Burke has been named Director of Strategic Programs of the Mission and Information Solutions business unit at QinetiQ North America (QNA). Burke will be responsible for aligning QNA’s advanced capabilities in the areas of cyber intelligence, agile software development, big data, and mobility solutions with the missions of the company’s homeland and national security customers.
“Richard is a tremendous addition to our team,” said QNA’s Executive VP and General Manager of the Mission and Information Solutions business unit, John Sutton. “His extensive experience in strategic and operational planning, crisis management, and policy will further bolster the mission critical services we deliver to homeland and national security customers.”
Before QNA, Burke spent eight years in senior positions in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), most recently as Director (SES) of the Plans Division within the Office of Operations Coordination and Planning. Before DHS, Burke was with the U.S. Marine Corps as a judge advocate and logistics officer, including service in Operation Enduring Freedom, and was in the private sector as a trial attorney.
Burke has a Master of Science degree in National Security Strategy from the National War College, a Juris Doctor from Suffolk University Law School, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Colgate University.
