MicroPact Wins Federal Mine Safety & Health Review Commission Contract

MicroPact has won a contract from the Federal Mine Safety and Health Review Commission (Commission) to develop a web-based case management system using MicroPact’s entellitrak software.

“The Federal Mine Safety and Health Review Commission has the daunting responsibility to monitor critical claims put forth by the MSHA and mine workers, claims that often involve health and safety concerns,” said MicroPact CEO, President, and founder Kris Collo. “With a customized case management system in place, the Commission can alleviate time spent administering files and paperwork and more energy identifying solutions that comply with legislative regulations.”

The system will automate the legal and adjudicative process for emergency response plans, alleged safety and health violations, orders to close a mine, miners’ charges of safety-related discrimination, and miners’ request for compensation after mine idling.

Under the contract, MicroPact will deploy an integrated, public-accessible case management system for litigants to file claims, and for Commissioners and administrative law judges to create dockets, manage dockets, and conduct appellate reviews.

The Commission is an independent agency that reviews legal disputes under the Federal Mine Safety and Health Act of 1977 and also between the Secretary of Labor and underground coal operators with the Mine Improvement and new Emergency Response Act of 2006.
