WashingtonExec 2013 Government Contracting Outlook Series:

The new year brings big changes for the Federal IT industry, and WashingtonExec is back with its Government Contracting Industry Outlook Series.

We are giving local executives the opportunity to share their thoughts on where they see our industry headed this year and beyond. Leaders were asked a series of questions focused on cloud computing, healthcare IT, defense, mobility, and more.

Manish Agarwal, Attain president of Federal and Solutions Services, spoke with us about his predictions for 2013:

“The paradigm shift that is enabled by Big Data will progress to the next level in 2013. We will likely see the government trying to capitalize on advances in big data analytics through the Obama Administration’s $200 million investment in data research and development initiatives.

Homeland security, law enforcement and healthcare agencies such as National Institutes of Health (NIH) will be enabled to make big strides in realizing the value of the data they own, and many agencies will give further emphasis to Big Data by appointing a Chief Data Official.”
