WashingtonExec 2013 Government Contracting Outlook Series:
The new year brings big changes for the Federal IT industry, and WashingtonExec is back with its Government Contracting Industry Outlook Series.
We are giving local executives the opportunity to share their thoughts on where they see our industry headed this year and beyond. Leaders were asked a series of questions focused on cloud computing, healthcare IT, defense, mobility, and more.
Deepak Hathiramani, Founder, President, and CEO of Vistronix shared with us his predictions for the new year. Vistronix acquired Stafford Va. technology solutions company Technology Associates International Corporation earlier this month:
“In spite of head winds (sequestration, debt ceiling, potential budget cuts, focus on Low Price Technical Acceptable (LPTA), delayed procurement cycles), the federal market space still offer some great opportunities for firms to realign their portfolios to match demand and budget priorities and focus on strategic growth.
Capitalizing on the chaos in the market space, firms will aggressively focus on high demand segments (National Security, Cyber, Health,Big Data, Mobility, etc.), complementing their organic growth strategy with a selective acquisitive strategy. Successful firms will continue to be more mission focused while making selective strategic investments and remaining cost competitive. Innovative business models and solutions coupled with enhanced capture strategies will play a enhanced role in the growth of companies in the federal space.”
