    Richard McKinless, Attain

Richard McKinless, former Partner of KPMG’s Not-for-Profit practice, has joined Attain, LLC, a leading public sector, health, and higher education professional services company, as Director of Strategic Finance.

“We are enthusiastic about adding someone of Rich’s caliber to our team and the opportunity it represents,” said John O’Neill, President, Higher Education and Academic Medical Centers. “We know Rich to be well respected in this arena, having provided outstanding professional services at the most senior levels of executive and board leadership for educational, philanthropic, research, and other tax exempt organizations over his entire career.”

McKinless will be responsible for leading finance and enterprise risk management initiatives under Attain’s Strategic Finance service line, helping charities, universities, and other not-for-profit organizations align resources with strategy, enhance governance processes, and identify financial operations improvements.

McKinless will report to O’Neill and work closely with Ron Salluzzo, leader of Attain’s Strategic Finance practice and principal author of the industry leading publication, “Strategic Financial Analysis for Higher Education.”

At KPMG, McKinless served as one of six U.S. partners comprising KPMG’s initial National Not-For-Profit Leadership Team and has extensive financial experience, including financial management, not-for-profit governance, strategic planning, budgeting, internal control, and organizational efficiency. He also served as a national instructor for firm professional development programs, and for his final three years, led the expansion of KPMG’s Alumni Partner Relations Program.
