Pete Childs has been appointed Chief Financial Officer of Cvent, the world’s largest cloud-based provider of event management, meeting site selection, and web surveys.

“We are thrilled to have Pete join the Cvent family and are looking forward to the experience he will bring to our team as we continue to execute on our growth strategy,” said Cvent CEO and Founder Reggie Aggarwal. “Pete brings an excellent track record as a financial officer guiding growing organizations and is a great fit given our momentum and aspirations for the future.”

Childs, who has 25 years of experience, 18 of which were in senior financial roles, joins Cvent from Towers Watson, an international human capital and financial management consulting firm where he was Chief Accounting Officer. There, Childs helped grow the company from $500 million and 4,000 employees to its current size of $3.4 billion and 14,000 employees.

Prior to Towers Watson, Childs served as vice president of Finance and Treasurer at HCR Manor Care, where he was responsible for the corporate finance, treasury, tax, and travel departments, and managed the spinoff of the Choice Hotels division into a separate public company. Prior to this, Childs served as Manager of Treasury Operations for Primark Corporation, a publicly-traded company. He began his career as an auditor with KPMG, one of the four largest accounting firms in the country.

“Cvent is at a very exciting stage in its development, with an excellent track record of growth and profitability, and a strong foundation of technology, clients and products,” said Childs. “I am looking forward to using my experience to help build on Cvent’s accomplishments as a growth-oriented company that’s continually redefining the meetings space.”

Childs, a certified public accountant (CPA), earned an MBA from George Washington University and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Brigham Young University.
