RJ Narang’s Advice To His Children: “Be Open, Patient and Remain Positive”

WashingtonExec Three Pieces of Advice Series:

“If you could give your kids only three pieces of advice, what would they be?”

Today’s advice is from RJ Narang, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Net Commerce Corporation.

    1)     Be Open: Never shut the door on an idea just because it isn’t your own, or sounds too outside the box. There should never be such a thing as too outside the box in fact.

    2)     Be patient: You’ve heard the sickeningly overused cliché, “Rome wasn’t built in a day,” a million times over. I hate to admit it, but it’s true. As a young entrepreneur developing your business, it’s easy to throw your hands up when things don’t initially go your way. But show some grit, and patience, and your hard work will pay off in the end.

    3)     Remain Positive: It’s easy to become discouraged, and grow pessimistic, when things don’t go well, but remain positive. How you handle adversity will go a long way, and remember others feed off your energy.
